Sira Rego was named the new Minister of Youth and

Sira Rego was named the new Minister of Youth and Children in Spain this last week. On October 7th, she posted a tweet justifying Hamas’ terrorism, referring to them as ‘resistance’. She has published many tweets since then condemning Israel, while never condemning Hamas for their atrocities.

Her new role in the government gives her influence on the future generations of Spain, making it okay to justify terrorism.

בהתקפת קואליציה של צבאות מדינות ערביות נגד ישראל, ונמשכה עד 24 באוקטובר 1973.

המלחמה פרצה בדרך פתע בצהרי יום הכיפורים לאחר שהמודיעין הצבאי כשל בקבלת דיווחים בנושא, והכוחות המצריים והסוריים פתחו בהתקפה מתואמת מראש על כוחות צה"ל בדרום ובצפון.

לישראל היו 2,569 הרוגים, 7251 פצועים ו- 294 שבויים.

ישראל חוותה חרם והפסקת אספקת נפט, עשרות מדינות ניתקו את יחסיהן הדיפלומטיים עם ישראל, ועצרת האו"ם הכריזה על הציונות כגזענות.

בעת ציון 50 שנה ל"מלחמת יום הכיפורים", אשר פרצה בעקבות החלטת מדינות ערב להתנגד לקיומה של מדינת ישראל, אנו כאן כדי להזכיר שלאנטישמיות אין מקום בעולמינו, ובעיקר שלא ברשת.

The "Yom Kippur War" started on Yom Kippur, October 6th, 1973, during a coalition attack of the Arab country's armies against Israel, and lasted until October 24, 1973.

The war started out of nowhere at the noon of Yom Kippur after military intelligence failed to receive reports about the war, when the Egyptian and Syrian forces launched a pre-coordinated attack on IDF forces in the south and north.

There were 2,569 dead, about 7,251 wounded and 294 prisoners.

Israel experienced a boycott and oil supplies cessation, dozens of countries severed their diplomatic relations with Israel, and the United Nations Assembly declared Zionism as racism.

In memory of the 50th year of the "Yom Kippur War", which was launched following the Arab countries' decision to oppose the existence of Israel, we are here to remind you that anti-Semitism has no place in our world, and especially not on the Internet.

FOA (Fighting Online Antisemitism) is recruiting a local coordinator for a new educational program in New York State (August 2023 – March 2024)
Job Description: The coordinator will be responsible for managing the routine activities of the organization with civil society organizations, Jewish communities, and higher education institutions operating in the USA.
The position is short-term, requiring approximately 15-20 hours per month, with the potential for extension to 20-60 hours per month. The majority of the work will be conducted remotely, with occasional meetings in New York City.
Requirements:
USA resident, preferably in NY
American or Israeli citizen
Primary language: English
Previous experience and knowledge in a relevant field are required.
Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
The position involves working in English.

The FOA was honored to participate at the EJA boot

The FOA was honored to participate at the EJA bootcamp in Brussels last week, and lead a workshop about the current situation: Proactive Online Monitoring of Antisemitic Content and Protecting Jewish Lives.

The workshops provide participants with knowledge and tools to combat online hatred, focusing on antisemitism, in Europe and around the world.

FOA will continue to train students, young adults, and the larger audience in the fight against antisemitism on social media. The FOA would like to thank the EJA and the WZO for inviting the FOA to take part in the 2 days bootcamp, which will undoubtedly make a positive change in the participants' attitude towards this worrying phenomenon.

Israeli tech warriors code a solution to fight online antisemitism

In an unprecedented collaboration between Code for Israel, a volunteer movement dedicated to Israeli high-tech endeavors, and Final, an Israeli technology company, the employees of Final have voluntarily devised a specialized algorithm for the non-profit organization Fighting Online Antisemitism (FOA).

Utilizing an external interface facilitated by Cyabra, a counter-disinformation company that uncovers threats across social media platforms, the innovative algorithm enables efficient and instantaneous monitoring of anti-Semitic expressions within the network, thereby enhancing the capacity to report and remove such posts.

Presently, the algorithm is being implemented within FOA's systems, empowering its trained volunteers to monitor, report, and eliminate nearly tenfold more instances of online antisemitism. This distinctive system automatically aggregates content through an external interface, and leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI), each post undergoes assessment to determine its degree of anti-Semitic potential.
