Press Release:
FOA Report Reveals Unprecedented Surge In Antisemitic Conspiracies Amid Iran Conflict

Press Release Info

TEL AVIV, Israel (March 11, 2026) – Fighting Online Antisemitism (FOA), the leading non-profit organization dedicated to monitoring and removing online antisemitism, released a report today documenting an unprecedented escalation in antisemitism and hatred of Israel since the onset of the war in Iran.

Conducted between February 28 and March 10, 2026, the study monitored over 1,400 pieces of antisemitic content identified by the organization across major social networks. A significant portion of this content promoted a modern conspiracy theory known as the “Zionist Occupied Government” (ZOG), appearing alongside Holocaust denial and expressions of classic antisemitism. FOA reported all findings through direct channels to the respective platforms, resulting in varied enforcement: TikTok removed 62% of the flagged content, Facebook removed 31%, and Instagram removed 29%. The X network demonstrated the lowest compliance, removing only 18% of the reported hate speech.

The report highlights a deeply concerning trend in which prominent figures are weaponizing the ZOG acronym to push the narrative that the American government is controlled by the Israeli government and Israeli interests. Furthermore, these narratives falsely frame the State of Israel as the primary culprit for the deaths of American soldiers and other tragic events in the United States. Additionally, researchers noted a systematic proliferation of content—primarily on X and Facebook—that attempts to equate the Israeli regime with the Nazi regime.

“It is not surprising to discover that this time too, when dealing with a war against a terrorist regime that oppresses its people and that promotes terrorist actions against innocent people around the world, the Jews are guilty,” said Tomer Aldubi, Founder and Executive Director of FOA. “The main problem with the new contents we have monitored since the beginning of the war is that the social networks frequently classify these theories as political contents within the framework of freedom of expression and therefore they are not removed.”

“We are in direct dialogue with the networks in order to bring about an absolute removal of these contents while promoting the term ‘ZOG’ and the various anti-Israeli contents as hate contents in order that they will be removed from the networks by means of their algorithms automatically,” Aldubi added.
