Urgent Action Taken Against Platform Hosting Virulent Hate Speech and Incitement
TEL AVIV, Israel (February 15, 2026) – Fighting Online Antisemitism (FOA), the leading non-profit organization dedicated to monitoring and removing online antisemitism, has issued an urgent and severe warning to Google and Apple regarding the new social media application, UpScrolled. FOA’s formal report details how the platform has become a “digital sanctuary” for the world’s most virulent forms of hate speech—including Holocaust denial, the glorification of Adolf Hitler, and graphic threats against the Jewish community—prompting Google to officially acknowledge receipt and initiate an internal investigation into the platform’s policy violations.
“The rapid migration of over one million users to a platform that markets itself on the total absence of moderation represents a critical tipping point in the digital fight against hate,” said Tomer Aldubi, Founder and Executive Director of FOA. “When antisemitic conspiracy theories and calls for violence are framed as ‘free speech,’ the safety of Jewish communities worldwide is compromised. We operate on a ‘Flash-to-Bang’ doctrine—disrupting the incitement before it translates into real-world tragedy. Google and Apple have a direct responsibility to enforce their own standards; no application that facilitates the glorification of terrorism and genocide should be accessible in a global marketplace.”
The sudden surge in UpScrolled’s popularity followed the late-January 2026 ownership changes at TikTok, which saw the platform transition to a majority American-owned joint venture involving Oracle and Larry Ellison. This transition, accompanied by stricter enforcement against hate speech—specifically regarding the term “Zionist” when used as a racial slur—triggered an exodus of users seeking “unfiltered” communication. FOA’s investigation confirms that UpScrolled’s promise of “no shadowbans” has created a vacuum where dangerous rhetoric flourishes unchecked, including the promotion of 9/11 conspiracy theories and calls for physical harm against Jewish individuals.
The FOA report documented systematic violations of both Apple and Google developer policies. Users on UpScrolled were identified posting imagery of the Nazi swastika and celebratory Nazi-era caricatures. Despite the platform’s stated community guidelines against hate speech, FOA researchers found that enforcement is virtually non-existent, even when content is explicitly reported via the app’s internal features.
“We are grateful for Google’s fast response to our report and its immediate step of opening an investigation,” Aldubi stated. “However, the responsibility remains with the infrastructure providers. We are calling on the major app stores to enforce their safety protocols and erase the app from their stores before an online post leads to a terror attack.”
